My thoughts on people and calamities.
Lately, our country, the Philippines, has been experiencing calamities that to some extent has been very destructive to many properties, and fatal to some people. All the while, I have been reading tweets about the nonstop rainfall. I really cannot get why some people blame other things for this occurrence, instead of looking deeper on the subject matter. WAKE UP GUYS! It's our fault! It's mother nature's wake up call to the things we have been doing to her. People kept on tweeting about how this calamity is the result of God's punishment to Filipinos because of the Reproductive Health (RH) Bill that has been a hot topic for many months already. HELLO! At least anyone who has faith in God knows that He is righteous. It's really sad to say but a lot of people tend to be hypocrites, pretending to be good followers of God, but then they're only Christians in words, and not in actions. I know of a certain friend who is against the RH bill and yet she uses birth control pills, morning after pills and condoms. How ironic is that? Anyway, back to the topic, we should not blame God, or the government for what has happened to our country. It's like the saying, a good leader is a good follower. If WE, the citizens of the Philippines, do not know how to be good followers, then how can we even expect good leaders from the government? We do nothing but complain, and yet, did we do anything about it? NOTHING. We must do our part. Simple things like following traffic rules, and throwing the trashes in the appropriate receptacle. And yet, what do we constantly notice on the streets? Trashes all over the streets, candy wrappers, and pieces of papers which would eventually clog the sewage system. Remember guys, no matter how much the government tries to fix the sewage systems, if we constantly litter everywhere, it's all gonna be the same. We NEVER really learned after Ondoy. We just learned to blame the government, and now, we're blaming the RH bill. There was even a hype on linking the calamity with the passage from the bible, Genesis 8: 7-12. Come on people, we have to start within ourselves. The problem is because of our own doing and the solution would also start within ourselves. Stop blaming the government. Yes, they are responsible for improving the state of the sewage systems, but still, let's do our part, that's how we become good citizens of the country and good stewards of God.
Love is blind? I don't think so..
Love is blind? I don't think so..

"Love is blind."
Blah. Blah. Blah. It's such a cliche saying that love is blind when it actually isn't. It sees the imperfections of the other and yet it chooses to be silent. Why is that so? It's because we LOVE that person, along with loving comes accepting. Acceptance of his/her shortcomings and flaws. We come to love someone, not because he/she is perfect, but because we love them for an unexplainable reason. No one is perfect. Yes. But love makes us understand and accept that person the way he/she is the same way that we would want to be treated the same. It's not love if you change that person, you're only fooling yourself if you want that person to be the 'IDEAL' partner because no, there will never be a person who would fulfill all the qualities of the partner who came from the figment of your imagination. There is only REALITY - reality that someday, somehow, no matter how perfect you think your partner is, his/her true colors will show and you would have nothing but disappointment because that person is not your 'ideal' partner. We love someone for who they are, not for who we want them to be. It won't be real if your partner would choose to change for you so that you would be happy. This is just short term, because no matter how he/she changes his/her qualities for you, the REAL him/her will show.
Acceptance is the key to this. Love is NEVER blind. It only seems as though it is blind simply because it chooses to accept the other as he/she is. With the acceptance of the reality that there is no ideal partner who is perfect and the acceptance of the other's flaw, one could be sure that he/she is at the right path, with the right person who also loves you for who you are.

I had my Surgical Ward Duty @ RPH. It was a different experience. I knew we would be 'toxic' because I kept on hearing comments from groups who had their duties there but I never knew that this would be a rotation where I would be so attached to my patient that I cried when I heard something bad had happened. My patient was a really nice person. He was always smiling even though he was in pain. He has been my patient for 2 weeks, and for 2 weeks, I know that I've done what I could and all the nurses have done every step that they could to save his life. The last time I saw him was last Friday. When we went back for our last duty, I thought he was in the Operating Room, and for the first time in my life, I was happy and willing to be taking his Vital Signs every 15 minutes simply because it was HIM. Then I heard the bad news, he was rushed downstairs because he found it hard to breathe and he already had sepsis. At first, I wasn't crying until I remembered his smile. He was like my grandfather - always smiling, funny and kind. You know that warm feeling you get when someone genuinely smiles at you? I felt that way every time I entered the diabetic ward. Hearing what happened to him, I felt like I lost someone important. I don't know how nurses become 'immune' from seeing some people pass away and I don't know if I'll ever be able to be 'immune' as well. One thing I'll never forget is how pure his kindness was and how his smile brought out the smile in everyone's faces.
Handsy :)
Just something I wrote while I was waiting for TF and Elaine to finish their Econ Exam.
In my dream, there's no one but you and me
And when we're together, your hands touch mine
There's this magnetic feeling that I feel when our hands touch
Such a strong magnet that I never want to let go of your hand
There's a feeling of security I get when you hold my hand
No words could translate how I feel when your fingers fill up the spaces between mine
It's as if my hands were missing a piece of a puzzle
Then you showed up and filled up the missing piece and made it a masterpiece
As my hand touches your hand,
My heart can't stop fluttering,
Knocking me, as though it were saying, "Don't let go of him"
And as our fingers interlock,
So is my heart that's locked for anyone but YOU.. :)

♥ my friends :D
Friends come and go, that's what they say but this saying does not apply to me. Yes, we've been through a lot. Crazy times, emotional times and the times when we get mad at each other because of misunderstandings. And yet, here we are, still the very best of friends. It's true when they say that you don't need a lot of friends, you just need a few 'true friends' who will always be there with you, physically or spiritually present. They're the ones who know the real me and I truly appreciate their presence in my life. I love you all! ♥

Sweet :)
I was chatting with my friend and I was asking him if he was still writing poems and stories. He told me that he has a lot of ideas but he was too busy to publish them. Then he suddenly thought of something for me:

The love of my life ♥
Let me share with y'all something that makes my heart and STOMACH happy and contented --> FOOD :)
Haha. This is just a random thought for my blog post. I've always loved eating, I don't know why they're telling me I'm underweight. Haha ☺ Anyway, I'll just post here my Top 10 Favorite fast foods and restaurants from Appetizers to Desserts :)
#10: KFC's French Fries :) Haha, I discovered recently a cheaper alternative to KFC's fries and that is Frenchies' Zesty Fries.
#9: BK's Mushroom swiss and DQ's Double Chocolate ice cream (Combo talaga yan :p)
#8: My Thai restuarant's Tom Yum. Ambiance was fair but the space was too small.
#7: TGI Friday's Caesar Salad and La Creperie's Strawberry Crepe. La Creperie's place was very attractive and the crepes were good.
#6: Conti's Pastry Shop and Restaurant's Tofu, Chicken Pastel and Mango salad. Con here was that it wasn't well ventilated, the food was good though.
#5: Il Pirata's Seafood pasta, Pesto and Pizza del Pirata. Makes me feel like I'm on a cruise. With a pirate statue and the chairs look like a pirate's chair. Arr! :)
#4: Fluke restaurant @ A-Venue - Loved their fish and chips so much!
#3: Las Paellas @ Greenhills' Promenade Mall - Paella Valenciana. You'd have to wait for 30 minutes then it only took me 10 minutes to finish eating the dish :D
#2: Holy Cow @ Trinoma - Their Fish and chips was the best fish and chips I've tried so far. They served me with 3 huge portions of fish fillets with a mountain of fries. The beef ribs were also delicious but since I was so focused on eating my fish and chips, I didn't pay too much attention on the ribs and other dishes. Spacious restaurant with a huge cow sofa at the front of the restaurant.
#1: Cyma's Seafood Swordfish Kebab, Beef Shank Spaghetti, Shrimp pasta with Feta cheese, Greek chicken adobo and their saganaki (flaming cheese).
-->Okay, I didn't eat all of these ALONE. I had a lot of people I shared these with :) Haha. HUGE portions! I mean really HUGE. Haha! I also love eating here because everytime we order Saganaki, they would always perform and that just really lifts my mood. They all scream OPA everytime the fire is lit. That would make your table a center of attention. Haha :) The place was also very nice, makes me feel like eating in Greece.
Of course, my most favorite of all would be anything that my mom or my dad makes :)

Blood Donation :)
Blood Donation? I thought that I would never be asked to donate blood ever since I've been exempted to donate when I was still studying at my previous school. Blood is thicker than water, when I heard that my aunt needed 4 units of blood, I did not hesitate to volunteer because she was someone who was important in my life. And so I asked permission from our professor in Western Civilization, Mr. Cuartero, that I be excused from our class because I had to go to Veterans Hospital to donate blood. My dad accompanied me to the hospital and we reached the hospital at around 3:00. We went straight to the Blood Bank department. I had to fill out this form, answer questions and POOF. In the end, I was rejected. Not because I had a communicable disease, not because I was hypertensive, but because I was underweight. There were a lot of people who were donating their blood and I was the only one who was not allowed to donate blood on the 1st screening just because I was underweight. And then we went to my aunt's room and paid her a visit. It was my first time to actually see the anesthesiologist perform Pre-Op teaching and she was really entertaining questions from my aunt and I. It was also my first time to see a nurse get the informed consent. The OB-Oncologist also visited and asked where my aunt was getting blood because there was no available Blood Type O stock. My aunt told her that one was rejected (ME) then the doctor asked "Sino? Itong batang to? E mukha ngang siya pa may kailangan ng dugo e." Then we all laughed. :)
Blood Donation Part 2 was a FAIL again. Haha. I was rejected before because of my weight and now, rejected again because of the same reason.
